While the register does not reveal the contents of your Will, it confirms that you have one and provides details on where it is stored.

Many people write a Will and then forget about it over the years—sometimes even their executors may forget where it’s kept or whether one exists at all. The National Will Register helps address this issue.

Certainty charges £30 (inclusive of VAT) for Will registration, offering peace of mind that your Will will not be lost.

Do I need document storage?
That’s a personal choice! While we can’t answer that for you, it’s absolutely possible to store your own important documents such as Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Trusts.

Why consider document storage?
Our document storage service offers a secure, insured, and purpose-built facility, providing peace of mind knowing your important documents are safe. Clients receive a storage certificate, which includes details on how to retrieve their legal documents directly when needed.

There are many reasons why people choose to store their legal documents securely:

To prevent vital papers from being kept at home
To avoid risks such as fire, water damage, or theft
To maintain privacy and protect sensitive information
To ensure trustees and executors know where to find the documents when the time comes, without having to hand them over prematurely

If you feel that storing your important documents would be beneficial, simply let us know.

We charge £25 per year (inclusive of VAT) for storing your Will, Trust, or Powers of Attorney, regardless of how many documents you store with us. This fee also includes registering your Will with the Certainty National Will Register, which is normally £30.
